There is plenty to do or nothing to be done at Elsewhere - the choice is yours.

You may decide to simply relax on the verandah in a rocking chair or swing in a hammock, quietly reading a book from our library whilst enjoying the many beautiful views. On the other hand, you may decide to pack the picnic basket and blanket and explore the 40 acres – settling in the shade of the gnarled old trees on the banks of Chaplow creek or choose from one of the four mountain bikes (complete with helmets and water bottles) and ride around the valley. There is also totem tennis, boules and badminton to play. If indoor activities are more your thing, we have a library of books, DVDs, videos, CDs and a large assortment of board games.

 The Location:

Elsewhere Retreat in the Megalong Valley is less than two hours drive from Sydney and is reached via a magnificent rainforest descent from Blackheath.

As you wind your way down through the towering gums, twisted lianas and massive tree ferns you will often see lyre birds scuttling across the road.

The road opens up to the fertile plains of the Megalong Valley under the shadow of the dramatic escarpment.

A couple more kilometres, passing paddocks of cows and horses and you reach the seclusion of Elsewhere. Its location offers the perfect balance of proximity to the many attractions of the acclaimed Blue Mountains but with the advantage of blissful solitude, no prying neighbours, magnificent views and the chance to see our wonderful fauna at close range.
